Original Handmade Pre-K and Kinder Felt Sets, Stories and Songs for Interactive Flannel Board Experi

My Goldilocks and the Three Bears set is finally available in my Etsy shop! The cabin is 18 inches and has plenty of room for Goldilocks to rummage around and for the bears to discover someone has been in their house! The set also includes a retelling of the story with my personal take on how it ends. Is it just me or is “Goldilocks ran away never to be seen again” NOT an acceptable ending?!

I have a TON of felt scraps and hate to see them go to waste. We found a fun and creative way to put them to use - felt collage! She was able to practice cutting and gluing and I got rid of some scraps! This is what you’ll need to do this craft:

Supplies:
-Felt scraps
-scissors
-Tacky glue
-12x12 stiff felt or cardstock

We used a piece of 12x12 stiff felt as our background but you can use cardstock. The tacky glue will saturate regular paper so a stronger material is recommended.

We decided to do a sky and grass scene and cut different shades of green, blue, yellow and pink felt in small pieces - any shape is fine. We placed them in piles and squeezed tacky glue on one section at a time and randomly placed pieces down. We continued this until a sections were done.

You can do this for all kinds of scenes or images!

Another custom order I’ll be sad to part with! Who else just loves school supplies? I can’t decide if my favorite item is the rulers (made to scale), the scissors, the pencils or the crayons boxes 🤔

My new blog post with free template is finally done! Who knew that blogging about felt would be so much more work than just making them?! 😂

You can download the instructions and templates at TheFlannelLibrarian.com. Link in Stories. I’ll also be posting song and lyric videos to Reels so be sure to check them out and see these cuties in action!

One of the perks of making all of my sets “Made to Order” is I have more flexibility to accept Custom Order Requests. A lot of times they are sets I would not have made on my own but I have a lot fun making them and flexing some creative muscles that don’t get used when I’m making the same sets over and over again.

I used a variety of types of material on this set - stiff felt, Eco Fi felt, acrylic felt, acetate sheets, and heat transfer vinyl!

It’s never too early to teach about recycling!

Here is the full 20-piece custom sports set! ➡️

I can honestly say I would have never made a sports set if it wasn’t a custom order request. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Not a big sports fan but really had fun making something new and different!

Which pairing is your favorite?

Not a sports family over here but when the custom order called for a football helmet - I HAD to make it a Cowboys helmet, obviously! That’s what you get when you order felt sets from Dallas! 😆

Happy Friday, Flannel Friends!

I’m working on a custom Sports set for a regular customer. Each ball is 6 inches so this set is BIG! I free-hand drew and cut all of these by hand.

With custom orders, I don’t make stencils since I don’t plan to replicate them so they come a long a little faster but I’ve never made them before so that can make it take longer.

The volleyball was the trickiest one but figured out a super easy way to get the pattern and curves just right and LOVE how it turned out!

This colorful apple set with optional tree is available in my shop again! I normally write a song and then create a set around it but this set started as a custom order request and I was inspired to write a little song to go with it. It goes:

“Ten colorful apples
Hanging in a tree,
Teasing Mr Farmer, saying
‘You can’t pick me!’

Then the RED little apple,
Juicy and round
Wiggles and jiggles free
And hits the ground!

The farmer picks it up
For his next big feast
Now there are NINE colorful apples
Hanging in the tree!”

…And so on!
