This is one of my FAVORITE workshops!😍 This is exactly how I do small groups and writing conferences. This is the blueprint for how I ran small groups successfully after lots of trial and error. I will be sharing schedules, timelines, and tips for success!

You know small groups can change everything for your students. But without the right systems, they can feel chaotic, unmanageable, and impossible to sustain. This full-day workshop gives you exactly what you need to make small groups work in your language arts classroom, whether you have 55 minutes, 90 minutes, or a 2-hour block.

In this hands-on session, you will learn how to build the classroom routines and independent practice structures that grow student stamina over time. Before you ever pull a small group, your students will know exactly what to do, and you will have a system for practicing that with them until it sticks. While students work independently, you will be conferencing with small groups on both reading and writing, using data to drive every decision about who you pull, what you teach, and how you differentiate.

You will also take a deep dive into writing conferences: how to use a teacher-friendly scoring cheat sheet to evaluate extended constructed response quickly and confidently, how to give feedback that moves writers forward, and how to use conferencing strategies that work across every grade level.

Whether you are just getting started with small groups or ready to take your practice to the next level, this workshop will give you a clear, repeatable system you can bring back to your classroom immediately.

Thank you, Springtown ISD for filling my bucket yesterday!🫶 We had an ECR Workshop, grades 3-high school along with SST updates, grammar, and revising/editing workbook lessons. Some of these teachers I have known for years! And some, it was the first time meeting you, and I really enjoyed your enthusiasm, hearing your thoughts, and seeing all the greatness!

My favorite comment was hearing that your students are enjoying the grammar workbooks, that the lessons are engaging, and that your students are asking to do it! 🥰Also, I loved that students are using the learn pages as a reference when writing!🙌
