✨ I had the privilege of spending time at the annual Celebration of Arts Creative Arts Camp with our friends from the Deutsch Institute right here on campus a while back.

For over 20 years, Misericordia has been proud to partner in this incredible two-week program, where campers explore music, dance, drama, and the visual arts with such passion and talent.

I’m so grateful Misericordia can continue to be part of this tradition that celebrates the arts and creates opportunities for everyone to share their gifts. 💛🎨

In addition to celebrating the accomplishments of over 200 graduates at the winter 2024 commencement, Misericordia University celebrated its Irish heritage by hosting The Honorable Dr. Mary McAleese, former president of Ireland, and awarding her an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters Degree. McAleese is world-renowned for her societal impact building bridges of peace and understanding among all of Ireland’s people. She is the first former head of state to visit our campus during its 100-year history. Instead of a traditional commencement speech, she initiated a lively chat with President Dan Myers about overcoming challenges, being open to others different than you, and the power of education to transform lives. Catherine McAuley founded the Sisters of Mercy on December 12, 1831 in Dublin, Ireland. Later the Sisters came to the United States and founded many hospitals and education institutions, including Misericordia in 1924.
