“Fine motor skills involve small muscles working with the brain and nervous system to control movements in areas such as the hands, fingers, lips, tongue and eyes. Developing fine motor skills helps children do things like eating, writing, manipulating objects and getting dressed.”

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. It is a time to recognize the strengths and needs of families and commit to work together to prevent child abuse and neglect.

The last Sunday of April is called Blue Sunday. Blue Sunday is a day when churches across the nation agree to pray for children who have been abused. We pray because children who have been abused should not have to pray or feel alone.

What can you do? Join together with others to pray for children who have been abused and for those who strive to help them.
