Dinner at TJCSGA State Conference
We stayed up all night long to work on the scrapbook and bring it to state conference.
We are part of a larger organization, the Texas Junior College SGA (TJCSGA) which is comprised of schools all over the state. Our region, Region II, has taken initiative to end the diminishing allocations for community colleges. We are petitioning the Texas Legislators to ask them to cut it out with all the budget cuts. Our tuition, financial aid, services, and ultimately our great state's diverse workforce are effected with every cut. If you would like to help us in this endeavor, please stop by OSL for more information. Thank you!
If you are interested in student government, quickly run to Office of student life, pick up the form, and run for the position. Deadline will be 4/15 and the election will be from 4/24 to 4/25.
Thank you everyone for donating! We collected all the boxes today and got nearly 80 books so far! RCSGA and VSA will sell all those books and send 100% benefit back to Vietnam in order to promote literacy.
Along with book drive, Student Government Association and Vietnamese Students Associaton had two days for fundraising by selling candies. We had regular chocolate, candies, and Vietnamsese candies. We want to thank everyone who came to volunteer and bought candy for us. We raised fund to promote literacy and help developing nations. All benefit will be sent back to Vietnam to build library.
Anyone wants candies? $1 for each. We have bunch of sweet treats here. As well, you can sign for petition for budget cut of community college. Stop by El Paso and treat yourself!
SGA and VSGA are collaborating to raise fund for room to read. We will have two days for fundraising (today 3/27 and tomorrow 3/28) with wide choices of candies. Today we have some regular candies like kit kat, hershey, or m&m; tomorrow we will sell Vietnamese Candies. We will have the sale at El Paso Hall. Stop by and grab some candies! Let's sweeten your life and others!
Student Government and phi theta kappa is collaborating to bring scholarship resources for Richland Students. It is next to book trade wall (in front of E036). It's still being updated! Stay tuned :)
