You didn't walk into this leadership role empty-handed.
You brought years of experience.
Judgment.
Political intelligence.
Pattern recognition.
And everything previous leadership environments taught you about what deserves your attention.
That's executive wisdom.
But here's something I've been thinking about:
What happens when the environment you're leading now begins inviting you to operate the way you did somewhere else?
Maybe you find yourself preparing differently.
Explaining more.
Calculating more.
Carrying something you had already decided to lead differently.
Not because you've forgotten what you've learned.
Because familiar conditions can make familiar responses available.
That's why I'm becoming more intentional about the distinction between what I've learned and how I'm choosing to lead now.
I want my experience to inform my leadership.
I want my judgment available.
And I want the executive I am today making the decision.
What have you become exceptionally good at doing in previous leadership environments that you're now intentionally deciding how to use in this one?
There is power in reflection.
