Hard gel and soft gel look similar… but they come off VERY different.

-Hard Gel is best for adding strength, overlays, and extensions. It cures under LED or UV light and must be filed off (it cannot be soaked off).
-Soft Gel (Soak-Off/Gel Polish) also cures under LED or UV light and can be soaked off with acetone or gel remover.
-Pro Tip: LED lamps usually cure each layer in 5–60 seconds, while UV lamps typically take 1–2 minutes per layer.

Knowing the difference can set you up for success in providing services, prevent damage during removal, and educate your clients about the best option for their nail health.

Maybe I didn’t start nail school for the reason I’ll finish it. 🤍
What started as wanting to understand how to do my own nails turned into something I genuinely love sharing with other people. Now, part of my routine is practicing new techniques, learning what works for different nails, and figuring out how to make the experience feel comfortable for the person sitting across from me.
I’ve learned that nail care can feel intimidating when you don’t know the terminology or what you’re supposed to ask for. That’s why I want to create an environment where you can ask questions, understand what I’m doing, and actually feel involved in your service.
I’m still learning, but every set is helping me build the kind of experience I want to give my future clients. 💅🏼
