Congratulations to Drs. Bartula, Gallardo, Coleman, and Reynolds for presenting their research at the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences in Washington DC last week. The research was titled “Factors that Influence Urban Recruits Persistence to Pursue Police Careers in a Negative Occupational Climate.”

UNT Dallas Criminal Justice and Public Safety Career Expo The event at the UNT Dallas campus is meant to help high school and college students interested in public safety careers. It is being held Friday, Nov. 4 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

UNT Dallas Criminal Justice & Sociology is hiring a part-time Program Coordinator for it's grant-funded program HOPE. HOPE is a five-year federal grant awarded from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration (SAMHSA). This grant is focused to provide Mental Health First Aid USA (MHFA) training to a large audience of individuals so that they can recognize the signs and symptoms of mental illness and identify resources available in the community. The coordinator will coordinate and deliver the training programs to the target populations consistent with best practices. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and two (2) year of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. JOIN OUR TEAM and make an impact in your community!
