THEY GOT A GOLDEN COIN!

We celebrated the inaugural use of the Holland ES at Lisbon Book Vending Machine! This week’s Birthday Lions made history as the first scholars ever to receive a golden coin, select their very own book, and add it to their personal home libraries!

What a special way to celebrate birthdays while building a love of reading and putting books directly into the hands of our scholars.

A huge THANK YOU to the Dallas Education Foundation, Katherine C. Carmody Charitable Trust, and Dallas ISD for helping us create memorable literacy experiences for our Lions!

Holland Week in Review…

The Lions are on the rise! This week, collaboration was in action across our PK classrooms and 4th Grade RLA classes as students learned, shared, and grew together.

Our staff officially joined one of the Four Houses and We are “One Team” during our House Sorting Celebration—and our students are up next!

We also celebrated 22 staff members and 202 students for achieving Perfect Attendance during Q1 Weeks 1–3. Showing up matters, and at Holland, Daily Attendance Counts & Matters!

We see you, Rising Lions! Together, we’re building the legacy one week at a time.

HOLLAND LIONS | THE WEEKLY REVIEW

Another amazing week of learning, pride, and celebration at H. I. Holland Elementary at Lisbon. Our Lions are on the Rise!

Learning in Action: RLA classrooms made grammar practice engaging with interactive task cards, while math routines were happening across classrooms as students strengthened their skills and learned to show and explain their thinking!

Holland Pride: Our staff proudly wore their Holland spirit wear, and our scholars looked sharp in their school uniforms! Classes achieving 100% Holland uniform participation received a surprise sweet treat for showing their Lion pride.

Celebrations: And there was even more to celebrate this week! Our Lions celebrated rising an entire letter grade, and we recognized the generosity of the Dallas VA Medical Center and Genesis Women’s Shelter & Support for donating pre-filled backpacks to support our scholars.

We are learning, growing, celebrating, and building our legacy—TOGETHER!

The Lions of H. I. Holland ES at Lisbon are OFFICIALLY ON THE RISE! Our first week of school has established a strong foundation for what promises to be a legendary year. Students and staff are excited to be in the Lions Den, and teaching and learning have been in motion since Day 1!

We are grateful for the unwavering support of DISD Central Staff and our valued community partners. Your collective impact matters!

We are especially proud to celebrate the academic growth that contributed to Holland moving up an entire letter grade on the state’s A–F accountability system. We made gains to move from a “D” to a “C”! This achievement reflects the commitment, collaboration, and hard work of our Lions!

Our staff celebrated this milestone with a well-deserved sweet treat!
