I’m a firm believer that technology can change your life and business for the better, but that only happens when you have the right tools in your hands! πŸ“’

This is why I’ve created a FREE quiz to help you choose the right Mac for your business. No more Googling β€œhow much RAM does a photographer need?” and then trying to figure out what the heck that all means. This quiz will give you personalized results and easy to understand explanations all based around what you do!

And don’t worry, when Apple releases updates, we do too πŸ˜‰

You can comment MACQUIZ and I’ll send you a link to the FREE quiz, or you can check it out at http://techsavvycreative.com/quiz!

I want to take a minute to shout out the most amazing humans, hype girls, teammates and friends a girl could ask for. I truly love my job (love you !) but the incredible people behind it make it absolutely remarkable. Leaving with a full heart and a full cup. Thank you! ❀️

There's a few things I like to tackle at the end of my work week each week that keeps my computer happy and running smoothly. It doesn't hurt to do some of these daily - like closing your tabs and apps - but aim to complete all 4 at least once a week!1️⃣ Clear Files off your Desktop - Just like a messy physical workspace can feel overwhelming, a messy desktop can be stressful too. Move files to the trash or to a permanent home and keep that desktop free of clutter.

2️⃣ Close your tabs - YES, ALL OF THEM!

4️⃣ Empty your trash - After all this purging, make sure you empty your trash or recycling bin when you are done!

5️⃣ Run your software updates - Software updates are an important part of keeping your computer running well. At the end of your workday, take a minute to check for both app updates and OS updates and RUN THEM.

Friday afternoon is my preferred Tech Duty Day - when is yours?

Keyboard shortcuts are a great way to boost your productivity and get things done faster. Here are some of my favorites. Are there any that you use daily?

My desk setup has evolved over the past year or two, and it’s finally in a place that I love! I used to be a desktop and laptop kind of girl, but with the right gear, I’ve been able to ditch the desktop and go to a setup that allows me to have both without the hassle of managing two computers.

if it's meant to be, you'll find your way back πŸ˜˜β€‹β€‹β€‹β€‹β€‹β€‹β€‹β€‹

PS: leaving all those tabs open can eat up some of your computer resources too. I know it's hard, but aim to close out your tabs and applications when you're done using them, and definitely at the end of the day. Your brain and your computer will thank you!

My face right now because my bags are packed and I am Michigan bound for !!Have I mentioned that I love conferences? I LOVE conferences. I am so excited (and honored) to be speaking at Reset for the THIRD time. I've had some amazing memories at this conference, and I cannot wait to see what's in store for us this week!

I'll be hosting a breakout session teaching photographers how they can leverage AI in their business. Whether it be with editing, email marketing, content creation, or meetings, AI is truly one of the most powerful pieces of tech you can use, and we are going to talk ALL about it.

Oh, and to make things even better, will be at Reset too. It's truly going to be the best time!

Enjoy this carousel of Reset memories over the years. If you'll be at the conference, please drop a comment below and come find me this week!

TW: Death of Loved One

I love speaking at conferences and events. I have so much fun teaching about things I'm passionate about and connecting with so many incredible creatives. It truly leaves me feeling on top of the world. My weekend atΒ .coΒ was one of those "on top of the world" events. I had such an amazing time!

I packed my suitcase Monday morning getting ready to go home, blissfully unaware that my world was about to come crashing down.

My phone rings.

"Hello, is this Dawn? This is your Dad's apartment complex. I have you listed as his emergency contact. Have you heard from him? His coworkers are here because he didn't show up for work, his cars are here and he's not responding to his door or phone."

That was the phone call that changed my life forever.

My Dad who I talked to daily, who babysat my girls when I needed a break or a date night, who cooked us dinner weekly and was at our house constantly, was gone. Just like that. Gone. No symptoms, no warning signs, he fell asleep while watching football and never woke up.

I have a really hard time looking at this photo. It was taken Sunday morning right before I gave my breakout talk. I'm wearing a blazer that my Dad bought for me. I'm smiling, full of excitement, and blissfully unaware that my Dad was no longer with us.

I'm not sure why I'm even sharing this story. At this point in time, nearly three weeks since I took this photo, it's just the only story I can think about. Everything else seems so silly and unimportant. Apple announced an event next week and I literally laughed. How insignificant that feels right now.

But one brutal truth I have learned - the world keeps moving around you when your world stops. It’s maddening and encouraging all at the same time. I am not the only person being consumed by grief. So many people carry grief every single day. But the world keeps moving, and they keep moving. That means once I manage to pick myself up, I can keep moving too.

I’m sending the biggest virtual hug to all of you who have rallied around me and my family during this impossible time. Thank you for being here as I slowly start to pick myself up and discover my new normal. ❀️
