Dear Brown Skin Girl,
Always remember to love yourself

Dear Brown Skin Girl,
Can I take it back? I played soccer since I was 5 and that was accompanied with having big thighs. I can remember being in jr highschool and highschool seeing girls of other races wearing shorts and dresses that I couldn’t dare wear. Because at a young age I was told it wasn’t appropriate. Why is it that the beautiful black girl is often adultified at a young age? Why is it that the phenomenal black woman is often sexualized? We are told we are being fast, sometimes called out of our name because of supposedly what we wear and how we dress. Well Queens, your BODY is yours. It’s your TEMPLE. Do not let anyone stop you from showing off the beauty of the BLACK WOMAN. As always Queens...keep that crown straight and tell them to enjoy the view 😘🤎

Dear Brown Skin Girl,
I have been told that I “talk white”. Not that I speak intelligently. Not that I am educated but that I “talk white”.
I’ve wondered at times why there is such a negative correlation between black women and education. The beauty of it all though is that we have receipts😉 From Kamala Harris to Michelle Obama we are EDUCATED. We are INTELLIGENT. We are PHENOMENAL. We have changed the WORLD.
So with that being said...I do not “talk white”. I am EDUCATED. I speak INTELLIGENTLY and I am DISCERNING. Always remember to keep that crown straight Queen 🤎Oh and this pic shows my response 😘😂

Dear Brown Skin Girl,
Here’s a secret many don’t know
...So up until I got to highschool I rarely smiled. I have so many childhood pics where I refused to do so. Growing up I was called Bugs Bunny, Chiclets, Beaver face, you name it. I absolutely hated my smile and to me it was just as bad as the other features on my face that I was made fun of.
But today it is rare to see me without a smile on my face. My smile is one of my favorite features. Anyone who knows me knows I love to take pics. Well here’s to creating new memories with a smile ☺️ Don’t EVER let anyone take your smile away Queens. As always...Keep that crown straight and smile on my beauties 😘

Dear Brown Skin Girl,
I was actually scared to post this pic because my nose looks “too wide”. Then I asked myself according to whose standards? I’ve been made to think that my nose is too wide, it’s too big, it’s too African looking. My response is so what? I am the definition of beauty and yep that’s according to my own standards 😌 My nose is perfectly shaped the way God created it. My features are straight from the origin continent 😉. I’m learning to love me just the way I am😘 Remember Queens, Keep that crown straight! You are Woman! You are beautiful 🤎

Dear Brown Skin Girl,
I’ve been told that my lips are too big. That my African features just aren’t good enough. My beauty comes straight from the mother land. So with that being said Queens, the next time you are made to feel as if your African features are not the definition of true beauty, just remember to tell them they can kiss....I think you know the rest 😘
Adjust those crowns Queens. You are your own WCW 🤎
