I want to encourage somebody today who may be wondering if they should compromise what God gave them just to get ahead.
Let me tell you a little bit of my story.
Back in 1995, I was a Marine Corp spouse living at Camp Pendleton, California, when God gave me the name Kare Bear Christian. At that time, I wasn’t living all the way like I knew I should for Christ but God already knew the plans He had for me and for Kare Bear Christian.
That name has been with me for over 30 years now.
In 2005, we moved from California to Alabama, and that transition was HARD. I felt like everything I knew had been stripped away our lifestyle, our friends, our comfort, everything familiar. For about six months, I felt like I was having a breakdown.
But looking back now, I can see something I couldn’t see then:
God was trying to save my life.
Alabama wasn’t a punishment. It was part of the process.
We came to Fort Rucker, eventually moved off post to Ozark, and I began providing childcare from our home, serving both state and military families. And through it all, we carried the same name:
Kare Bear Christian.
Later, when the Lord placed us in our first center in Enterprise, Alabama, the pushback came.
Not because of Kare Bear.
Because of Christian.
I was told that if I dropped “Christian” from the name and just used Kare Bear, more resources and opportunities could come our way.
But I couldn’t do it.
Because my thing has always been this:
If it comes from any source outside of God’s will, I DON’T WANT IT.
I’m not removing Christ from something I believe GOD gave me just so another door might open.
We were called names. We were talked about. Opportunities passed us by. There were times when standing firm cost us something.
But I did not bend.
Because I’d rather have God’s hand on what He’s given me than have every resource in the world without Him.
Then COVID came.
And while the world was going through something none of us could have imagined, God continued opening doors. We stayed faithful. We kept going.
Do we have battle scars? Absolutely!
But who doesn’t get some battle scars when you’re in the Army of the Lord? 🙌🏽
Sometimes you’ve got to dust yourself off and STAND.
And when you’ve done everything you know to do…
KEEP STANDING.
Then the Lord made another shift for us and moved us to Daleville, Alabama. It was another adjustment and another season we had to learn to trust Him through.
But guess what?
GOD STILL HAD US.
He had our front.
He had our back.
He had our sides.
And He STILL does! 🙌🏽
So if you’re reading this and you’re in a season where you don’t understand what God is doing, I want to encourage you:
TRUST THE PROCESS, EVEN WHEN YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND THE ASSIGNMENT YET.
Don’t compromise what God gave you because somebody tells you there will be more money, more resources, more connections, or more opportunities if you change who God called you to be.
Every open door isn’t necessarily YOUR door.
And every closed door isn’t rejection.
Sometimes God is protecting you.
Sometimes He’s redirecting you.
Sometimes He’s preparing you.
And sometimes He’s simply asking:
“Will you trust Me?”
My answer is YES, LORD.
Because if He did it before, HE CAN AND WILL DO IT AGAIN! 🙌🏽
No person made Kare Bear Christian.
THIS IS ALL GOD.
Every victory.
Every lesson.
Every battle.
Every open door.
Every closed door that protected us.
Every family we’ve been blessed to serve.
Every year He has allowed us to keep going.
GOD DID IT.
So we’re holding fast to His promises. We’re holding fast to His Word. And we’re going to keep trusting Him even when we can’t see what’s coming next.
If you’re struggling today, DON’T GIVE UP.
Hold on.
Stay faithful.
Don’t compromise.
Trust God’s timing.
And remember where He has already brought you from.
If He did it before, He can do it again.
To GOD be ALL the glory! 🙌🏽❤️
Kare Bear Christian the name God gave me, and the name I refused to compromise.
Amen. Have a blessed day, y’all! ❤️🙏🏽
