🎉 What a great first day!

We had a great start to the 2026–27 school year today with our Kindergarten–6th Grade and 9th Grade students!

We got those important first-day routines and expectations out of the way, and now we’re ready to welcome the other five grades tomorrow!

📚 Friday, August 14: All students in Kindergarten–12th Grade will be in school for our first full day together.

Our preschool students will join us next week!

The 2026–27 school year is almost here! As we get ready to welcome our Cardinals back, here are a few important dates for K–12 and Preschool families:

🎒 K–12 STUDENTS

• First day of school for Grades K–6 & 9; Half-day dismissal for students (Q1) (S1)
📅 Friday, August 14
• First day of school for ALL K–12 students

🖍️ PRESCHOOL FAMILIES
📅 August 13 & 14: No Preschool- Home visits will take place
📅 Monday, August 17
• Full-Day Preschool begins/AM & PM Preschool students will have home visits

⚽❤️ NEW OPPORTUNITY FOR OUR LITTLE CARDINALS! ❤️⚽

We’re excited to share the Cardinal Youth Soccer League, a new opportunity for SSC students in 1st–5th grade to get active, have fun, and represent their Cardinal community!

One of the best parts? Our kids get to play alongside their classmates and other SSC students! 🐦⚽ Instead of simply joining a team, they’ll have the chance to strengthen friendships from school, make new ones, and build an even greater sense of belonging and Cardinal Pride.

Youth activities like soccer are about so much more than the game. They help children develop teamwork, confidence, communication, responsibility, perseverance, and healthy habits, all while having FUN! ❤️

And when our students play together, cheer for one another, learn together, and grow together, we strengthen the connections that make SSC such a special community.

📣 Open to students in grades 1–5 from:
Cardinal Elementary • Covington Elementary • Dakota City Elementary • Harney Elementary • Lewis & Clark Elementary
