Different age groups can tolerate different maximum dilutions.

These are general guidelines, and there can be exceptions when lower (or higher) dilution is appropriate, or where an oil should be avoided altogether for safety reasons.

In terms of the Fresh Lavender Hand Rescue Bar that you can learn to make in the tutorial THURSDAY, the EOs are at 1%, so it is safe for anyone older than 2 years.

If you haven't signed up for the tutorial yet, follow the link below ASAP! We'll see you on May 28.

PSA: Please remember that strong antimicrobial "protection" type essential oil blends aren't very friendly on the respiratory system, have to be kept at super low dilutions to be skin safe, and are likely to interact with health conditions and medications.

All three of these blends pictured were found on Amazon and contain Cinnamomum verum or Cinnamomum cassia which can interfere with blood clotting, and are known skin sensitizers. They all also contain Clove bud (Syzgtium aromaticum also known as Eugenia caryophyllata), which can also interfere with blood clotting, and is known as a skin sensitizer.

What does this mean for the general public? Avoid in cases of pregnancy, babies and toddlers, clotting disorders, the very ill and frail, and before and after major surgery or childbirth. Use with caution for other populations and keep a close eye on signs of distress in healthy adults.

For use on the skin these blends are best kept under 0.5% which is about 1 drop in two teaspoons (10 mls) of a lipid base carrier oil like coconut oil or shea butter, or in two teaspoons (10 mls) of a homemade alcohol hand cleaner.

Planning on diffusing these in a room for cross-infection control? Remove humans and pets from the room, setup your diffuser on the highest fan setting, put on a timer for 20 minutes. Shut off the unit, open the window to evacuate the air in the room, wipe down all surfaces where droplets may have landed, reintroduce humans and pets to the room. Repeat once a day or as needed.

I just did my last Therapeutic Massage of this decade. I wonder how many I have done in this decade? Matter of factly, how many in 2019. Now it is on to the Roaring 20"s. I wonder how many massages I will do in the 20's. Ha, Definitely not as many as the past 3 decades. Happy Near Year from Hands from the Heart Massage LLC., and Belle Flora Essential Oils.

Good Information

Concentrated, aromatic, volatile liquids distilled from plants are highly potent, often risky and full of possibilities — but regulation is limited, and more research is needed.
