LCHS CTAE classes hosted CES 4th grade students yesterday. When they visited Ag Ed, FFA Officers and members taught them about dairy products and assisted them in making homemade ice cream! Definitely made an investment in the future of agriculture!

Lumpkin Co. FFA Livestock Exhibitors continue to grow their projects and improve in showmanship at the Chattahoochee Mountain Fair! Hadley Murray led the way with her 4th place out of 12 9/10th graders in showmanship. Both Hadley and Linda Bardill won their classes and made the Breeding Heifer final drive where Hadley’s Shorthorn Plus was selected 3rd over all. Kearstin Adams finished 2nd in her class while Audrey Holcombe finished 3rd in her class. Stay consistent and keep working for the goal of October!

Lumpkin Co FFA members spent the weekend at the Gwinnett Co Fair. Top finishers were Hadley Murray placing 2nd of 14 in 9th grade Showmanship and Lily Johnson placing 3rd of 18 in 12th grade Showmanship. Also Mackenzie Sullens won Reserve Champion Fleckvieh and Hadley Murray won Reserve Champion AOB with her Shorthorn Plus. Congrats to all exhibitors!

Lily Johnson, a member of the Lumpkin County FFA Chapter, was selected to attend the University of Georgia’s Elite Stockman Program, an immersive leadership and beef industry experience designed to prepare the next generation of agricultural leaders.

During the program, Lily gained hands-on knowledge in cattle reproduction, nutrition, meat science, beef advocacy, and agricultural literacy while learning from UGA faculty and industry professionals.

Her participation reflects her dedication to the beef cattle industry and her commitment to expanding her knowledge and leadership skills through FFA and agricultural education.
