Why did we retire a lab method that's been around since 1879?
🍄

Soxhlet extraction was the gold standard for over a century. But for medicinal mushrooms, long runs at boiling temperatures and passive soaking aren't always the best fit.

We moved to ultrasonic extraction, which uses sound waves to break open tough cell walls in minutes, with temperatures we control and record for every batch.

Swipe through the carousel for the quick version.

In the 7 mushroom studies we reviewed, ultrasound came out ahead in 5, tied in 1, and lost in 1. We're honest about where Soxhlet still wins, and about why ultrasound took us more than two years to tune for each species.

The medicinal mushroom market is flooded with ineffective products. 🍄

Here's why: most companies cut out all the hard parts, do the easy, ineffective parts, and sell you that.

Here's the thing though — if you just make a genuinely good product with a good ethos, you're immediately better than 90% of the companies out there. And by "better," we don't mean more profitable. We mean people notice.

They notice at the market table. They notice in the dropper. They notice when it actually works.

No shortcuts. Just the hard parts, done right.

We get asked a lot what actually sets us apart from other companies in this space. Here's the honest answer.

Only about 5% of businesses control their entire process — from growing to extraxting to testing. We're proud to say we're one of them. We grow and extract our own mushrooms, hold all our own licensing documents, and regularly send off samples for independent, third-party testing. Nothing gets outsourced to a third party we can't vouch for.

But the bigger difference isn't really about process — it's about honesty. When you run a business, nobody's checking the emails you send or fact-checking the claims in your ads. That responsibility falls entirely on you. We could cut corners and no one would ever know. But we'd know. And building a business on lies — even small, convenient ones — isn't a business worth having, no matter how profitable it becomes.

That commitment to honesty and transparency isn't just something we say. It shapes every decision we make, all the way through the process.

Thanks for trusting us with your health and your hard-earned money. We don't take it lightly.

It’s time for another round of our super popular Mushroom Foraging, Growing and Farm Tour Workshops!

https://www.mindfullmycology.com/product-page/mushroom-id-forage-cook-and-cultivation-course

Join us at our 40-acre property just outside Dahlonega on Sunday, September 27th or Sunday, October 11th from 9 a.m. until ~ 2:30 p.m. to:

🍄 Learn how to identify and forage for wild mushrooms
🍄 Go for a guided mushroom forage in our forest
🍄 Lunch on Lion’s Mane mushroom (vegetarian, gluten-free) crab cakes
🍄 Take a tour of Mindfull Mycology’s farm and learn the step-by-step process of mushroom growing
🍄 Make an Oyster mushroom grow kit to take home and harvest fresh mushrooms from in ~3 weeks

While we want to offer this opportunity to as many people as possible, we will be capping the size of this event. Therefore, I recommend purchasing your tickets as soon as you can confirm you can attend. Our fall classes typically fill quickly because we have an entire summer market season of email sign-ups from interested folks.

"The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten."

- Benjamin Franklin

Most supplement companies don't even make their own products. 95% of mushroom supplements are made by small companies with very little idea what they're doing.

The result?

A poor, ineffective product.

Mindfull Mycology is different.

We make everything in-house.

We third party test to confirm and quantify the important bioactive compounds your body is seeking.

We're experts. This is ALL WE DO.

After 7 years of intensive focus and work in this field, the results speak for themselves:

A premium product with quality you can see, smell, taste, and most importantly, FEEL! ⚡️⚡️⚡️
