All sports have a risk of injury but there are some precautions to take to prevent major injuries in pole.
Here are 5 methods you can use to teach your students ➡️
1️⃣ Warm-up:
Prepare the muscles and activate the parts of the body needed for the upcoming movements.
2️⃣ Train both sides equally:
Avoid muscle imbalances and overcompensations.
3️⃣ Stay hydrated:
Increases energy, stamina, mental focus and aids in recovery.
4️⃣ Avoid overtraining:
Prevent fatigue, mental fog and dizziness.
5️⃣Use proper technique:
Some pole moves require more strength and/or flexibility to perform - controlling your movements instead of powering through.

As a mom of two, a pole dancer of 11 years and a nurse I thought the Pre/Postnatal Pole Specialist Certification course was very knowledgeable and thorough. How long before a client can return to pole after giving birth? 🤔
🤰Depending on the birth your client has/had and their previous exercise history, the return to pole will be different for everyone. It’s a gradual return for everyone. Going slow is recommended for recovery rather than trying to rush back to the same level as pre-pregnancy. It takes 9 months to grow a baby, so it makes sense that it takes approximately 9 months to recover fully. They need to wait a minimum of 6 weeks after birth and get clearance from their healthcare provider and/or a Pelvic Floor Physio.
👶🏻If they haven’t trained during pregnancy, they might have to go even slower. The body can decondition/atrophy after almost a year of not pole dancing. Starting with slow flow or slow-paced choreography classes would be recommended to build up the muscles and stamina for performing tricks.
👩🏻🍼If there are complications to address first, it may take more time to come back. If there is any pain or discomfort associated with a movement, it’s best to recommend they see a pelvic floor physio.
✅We cover the gradual return to pole in the Postpartum Section of our Pre/Postnatal Pole Specialist Certification online course.

Why Pole Teachers should have their First Aid & CPR certification
Let's start by telling you what a First Aid and CPR/AED certification is.
First Aid is immediate emergency care given to an injured person and CPR/AED stands for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) with an automated external defibrillator (AED) training.
In Canada, there are many different companies that offer First Aid and CPR/AED courses online and in-person. In case of emergencies, this is a great certification to have, and oftentimes insurance companies require it.
Pole is a high-risk sport and you never know what could happen at a studio or during a private session at your home. Safety is our number one priority as Pole Teachers. We need to… CONTINUE READING in our link in bio

When do you feel your most creative? Is it when you feel stressed and anxious? Definitely not. That tends to stifle creativity.
The triangle of creativity is a pole play cycle. The more you can have fun while dancing or teaching, the more you feel like you're in a state of flow and the more you can spark creativity. The cycle fuels itself and becomes something powerful-- creative energy. Your students can recognize when their Pole Teacher is energetic while teaching and feed off that energy to create a really fun atmosphere. The energy of the class will be high when you're in the cycle of creativity.
How to start the cycle and apply creativity to our classes? Give yourself time and space to play. Explore and feel inspired to create. If that means going into the studio to play before you start teaching, do it! It can also mean spontaneously creating fun pole routines, combos or sequences for your students in the middle of class.
There are so many ways you can up your class energy and fun by adding special moments that are not often experienced during standard pole classes, like interactive games, partner play and more! The best classes I've taught have been from creativity that sparked in the moment.
How can you use your imagination to get creative with new ideas to bring to your classes?
