Our year of teaching and learning is off to a great start! Join us at curriculum night TONIGHT to learn more about what it means to be a Dyer Bear. Adult family members are invited to gain insight into daily life at Dyer, learn about academic expectations and connect with teachers and staff.

Our fourth and fifth graders are setting the bar HIGH! Our staff at Dyer have been hard at work preparing for our bears to come back tomorrow! We took a break from setting up our classrooms, planning lessons and getting every last detail in order to have some ice cream! Thanks to our admin team for making our last day of preplanning so sweet. Now bring on the school year!

Welcome to our newest additions! 🐥✨

Our first graders have spent this semester becoming true bird experts. Not only have they been studying bird anatomy and habitats through their EL literacy modules, but they were also joined by Dr. Karen Grogan from the University of Georgia to learn exactly how chickens are hatched and raised.

Our learning reached new heights this year as we watched baby quails and chickens grow in their incubators and finally hatch! We're still waiting on the quail chicks to leave their eggs. Our students have had the opportunity to watch the "bird cam" as we live stream the incubation process school-wide.

A huge thank you to our first-grade team for their dedication to bringing this project to life and making learning so hands-on for our students. 🦅🎓
