Often senior citizens move to be close to their children, and Fairfield is full of relocated grandparents. But after pulling up stakes and establishing a new home, they often struggle with a host of emotional factors, such as is finding new friends with whom they can spend leisure hours enjoying themselves and enriching their lives.
The Traveling Seniors of Cypress invites anyone over 50 seeking to make the most of their leisure time to join us on one of our outings. We are a group of fellow travelers mainly from in and around Cypress (but you do not have to reside in Cypress to travel with us). We enjoy at least one; sometimes two, day trips a month. The buses are provided by Precinct 3 free of charge. Our trips run the gamut from art museums and presidential libraries to festivals and major league games. Plus, we squeeze in a lot of good eating to go along with our travels.
We also sponsor several longer excursions to explore Texas and discover America's vast beauty and natural history beyond our Texas borders. Since we started, we've taken trips to Branson, Missouri, Pigeon Forge, and Nashville, TN, New Orleans, and the Texas Wine Country. For 2022, we are scheduling a trip back to Branson in the spring and the northeast for a fall foliage tour.
