The Haitian Revolution (1791–1804) led to the birth of Haiti, the first Black republic, on January 1, 1804. Curated by Jacquil Constant, the exhibition showcases the immense talent of the Haitian Diaspora, and the enduring impact of a historical legacy that continues to inspire global movements for liberation and justice. exhibition presents artworks that address historical patterns of resource extraction from Latin America and their traces in contemporary life, particularly as they impact housing in Southern California.
