On Saturday, May 12, Oxford Academy STEM will be having a banquet to celebrate the successful 2017 - 2018 school year. Come on out for fun, food, awards, and gifts! The banquet will be in the MPR, on Saturday, May 12th from 6 - 8 PM. Pay $5 for students and $7 for guests by May 7, and RSVP at oastem.org/banquet.

Oxford Academy FRC Team Quantum Leap, #4079, finished strong at the Orange County FRC Regionals! From March 21 to March 24, FRC teams all across Orange County gathered at UCI to compete against each other in 3v3 matches. The event comes after a six-week build season, and Oxford Academy's effort paid off. Quantum Leap finished in quarterfinals as the first choice pick for their team's alliance! Congratulations to our FRC team!

As Oxford Academy enters the fourth quarter, 2018-2019 STEM Board applications are now available to all Patriots! Each of OA STEM's board members is a vital part of the organization, and every year they go on to lead the club to great success.

Applications are open to anybody and are due on March 18th, 3:00 PM.

Last Saturday, students from OA STEM Math competed in the CSULB math competition! Daniel Yang, Artyom Lisitsyn, Bill Feng, Anita Liu, Angela Choi, and Trung Phan placed 8th overall out of 39 other teams! Congratulations to our members!

Yesterday, Oxford Academy STEM competed in Science Olympiad, a team competition for students to showcase their knowledge. Congratulations to Kaushal Shyamsundar and Marvin Zhang, who placed 7th in Dynamic Planet. Also, congratulations to Artyom Lisitsyn, who placed 9th in Fermi Questions. OA STEM Junior High also placed 9th in Herpetology!

Three OA STEM teams, two junior high and one high school, also competed in the 6-hour CyberPatriot competition yesterday! Our junior high teams, MLH (Rhea J, Shiya P, Sanath N, Jenna L, Francine G) and No Debate (Suvan R, Timothy O, Debdeep B, Aaryan G, Avi J) competed in the junior high division semifinals! In high school, team Bacherlorettes+1 (Joie L, Yasmin V, Allison K, and Brandon N) competed in the Platinum division for semifinals. We look forward to their success as we wait for official rankings to be determined.

Congrats to junior high Science! David Lee, Shreyas Koppula, Debdeep Bandyopadyay, and Lydia Kim all competed in the Science Bowl, this January 27th, pitting themselves against other students to test their skills. They put forward great effort and are sure to go far with STEM!

Come out to the quad this Wednesday and buy some boba to support our junior high Science Olympiad team! And even though Club Refresh is over, if you're interested in similar competitions in any field, you can join next year without any training! We're open to all, and our directors and mentors will teach you everything you need to know. It's never too late!

Oxford Academy STEM students came together this morning for the FIRST Robotics Competition Kickoff. The FRC season has just begun, and our FRC team is hard at work to build a top-tier robot!
