Each person that completes our training program receives job placement in the automotive industry as a certified mechanic or technician.

Yesterday, we officially celebrated the ribbon cutting of Petra Cares’ new facility.

This space represents more opportunity, more support, and more futures changed for the young adults and families we serve every day.

79 years later, and still turning heads!

Petra Cares students recently helped bring this 1947 Willys CJ-2A back to life after sitting since 2018. With new spark plugs, teamwork, and a little TLC, the engine is running once again, with brakes up next.

Originally developed from the WWII military Willys MB, the CJ-2A became the first mass-produced civilian Jeep and remains one of the most iconic utility vehicles ever built.

Moments like this give students hands-on experience while building confidence, technical skills, and real-world problem solving.

We’re honored to be recognized by Magazine for the impact of Petra Cares and our third annual Fueling Futures Gala.

In a feature spotlighting Houston’s most impactful fundraisers, PaperCity highlighted Petra Cares for raising more than $1 million to support certified automotive training for young adults transitioning out of foster care.

Since 2023, more than 140 young people have secured full-time careers in the automotive industry thanks to this program, changing the trajectory of their lives through skills, stability, and opportunity. [papercitymag.com]
