An equity and culture audit conducted in Cy-Fair ISD last year revealed districtwide discrepancies in academics, discipline and representation among staff. Members of the school board are divided on the district’s efforts to become more equitable and whether the audit was necessary.

There has been a lot of discussion about the Resolution Condemning Racism signed by the CFISD board members in September of 2020. During the January Board Working Session, the current board has announced that they will re-visit the Resolution in the future and update some of the wording. Our organization's stance on this is simple: we believe the resolution should remain as is.

Many people have expressed concerns that the Resolution is not publicly available for the community to read and reasonably engage in the conversation. We have found the unsigned version of the Resolution in the board meeting archives and have shared it here for your convenience. This is the same version that the board of trustees signed on September 14, 2020.
