Mary, our patroness, was at the heart of our day at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish & School in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. 🌹

During Mustang Stables, our Catholic school family came together in mixed grade groups to grow in faith. Students shared what they know about the Blessed Virgin Mary, made her a thank you card, listened to her stories on the Hallow app, and prayed a decade of the Rosary. Fr. Kevin even stopped by to visit! 🙏

This year we are getting to know Mary, our Mother, and growing closer to Jesus through her.

Did you know the Catholic Church teaches that the Eucharist at a Greek Orthodox Church is the real Body and Blood of Jesus Christ?

Fr. Kevin visited a local Greek Orthodox church on his day off, and it’s worth asking the question most Catholics never think to: is their Eucharist even valid?

The answer is yes. Orthodox priests hold valid apostolic succession, tracing all the way back to the Apostles. That means when an Orthodox priest consecrates the bread and w**e, the Catholic Church holds that it truly becomes Christ’s Body and Blood, the same Real Presence we receive at every Catholic Mass.

So what actually divides us? Mainly two things: how much authority the Pope holds over the whole Church, and a phrase added to the Nicene Creed centuries ago called the filioque. The priesthood, the sacraments, the apostolic faith? We still share all of it.

And that healing is closer than most people realize. This past November, Pope Leo XIV traveled to Turkey to pray alongside the Ecumenical Patriarch for the 1,700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea, the very council that gave us the Creed we say every Sunday.

“He told me what I needed to hear, not what I wanted to hear.”

Fr. Kevin shares how two mentors turned his life around as a “wild teenager,” and the lesson their honesty taught him about listening to God too. In today’s Gospel, Jesus gives us that same warning: don’t just listen to what’s comfortable. Listen to what you need to hear.

What a night! Our IHM community came together for the Glow Splash Bash, our Back to School Swim Party at the Cuyahoga Falls Natatorium, and it did not disappoint!

Swimming, music, glowing fun, and so much connection with our IHM family. đź’šđź’›

100% of the proceeds from this event support IHM’s operating expenses, helping us continue to provide an exceptional Catholic education and meaningful experiences for our students. Thank you to everyone who came out and made this such a special night.

On his day off, Fr. Kevin took a road trip to the Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey, Ohio. Home to over 200 relics, this shrine is a beautiful reminder of how close our saints really are to us.

Fr. Kevin walks us through the three classes of relics and shares a little about his own first class relic of St. Therese of Lisieux.

Did you know the word “Rosary” means “Crown of Roses”?

Tradition holds that every time you pray a Hail Mary, you’re giving Our Lady a single rose. Pray a full Rosary, and you’ve placed an entire crown of roses at her feet. 🌹

Our third graders just lived this out in real life, growing real flowers all year long to lay before Mary as a gift.

As Saint Padre Pio said, “The Rosary is the weapon for these times.”

Today, we invite you to give Our Lady a rose of your own. One Hail Mary. One rose. One prayer at a time.

Eve said no to God. Mary said a perfect yes.

Today the Church celebrates the Nativity of our Blessed Virgin Mary, the new Eve. Fr. Kevin reminds us her yes gives us the pattern for our own. We are all written into God’s plan of salvation too, and we live it out the way Mary did: surrendering each day, giving our will to His will.

Save this for the next time you need reminding that your yes matters. Tag someone who needs to hear it today.
