The Black and White Photo taken after the Battle of Antietam near the Davis Miller Farm and the infamous Cornfield. The photo is a bit deceiving. Most people think the wagon tracks is the Sharpsburg Pike. In actuality the Pike is on the other side of the fence.

The color photo was taken by Little John during our visit to Antietam earlier in the year. Its an excellent representation of how the land looks now vs how it looked in 1862.

The Battle of Harpers Ferry was a pivotal precursor to the Battle of Antietam. Had the Confederates not taken the Federal Arsenal, they would have been cut off from their home state of Virginia, making retreat relatively impossible.

Today Harpers Ferry, West Virginia remains an incredible testament to how it looked in 1862. You should absolutely make the trip!

On this day in 1827, the first canalboat, loaded with dignitaries and politicians, arrived in Cleveland amidst great fanfare and huzzahs. The initial section of the Ohio & Erie Canal between Akron and Cleveland had been completed. NPS image of a painting.

Mound Cemetery in Marietta Ohio is amazing! The centerpiece of this cemetery is a 30ft conical shaped Adena burial mound! You should absolutely visit if you can!
