We had a great time last week helping with the Southold Town PBA "National Night Out" on Tuesday and then capped it off on Saturday with a tour on the USCGA Barque Eagle, "America's Tall Ship." What made it special was that the cadets were able to meet up with "SWAB" Ryan Harned who was on board as part of his swab summer at USCGA. Thanks to Maureen Dacimo for setting this up and thanks to the parents that attended: Mrs. Blasko, The Reeve's, The Stuckart's, Mrs. Kraeling and the Harned's.

🌟 Host Spotlight: Gregory! 🌟

Say hello to Gregory, who is spending his 4th summer with us! As a cashier in Food & Beverage, Gregory loves greeting guests, serving up their favorite meals, and making sure the ice maker stays stocked and ready to go.

When he's not helping create a great experience for our guests, you can find him enjoying two of his favorite attractions, the Lazy River and Mammoth River. Outside of work, Gregory likes building LEGO creations and spending time at the beach. 🧱🏖️

Be sure to say hello when you see him around the park! 👋😊

Gregory came to work with us through the Mattituck-Cutchogue School District and their Vocational Training Program. Since 2010, Splish Splash has proudly partnered with this program, providing students with the opportunity to gain real-world work experience while building skills for future success. Through meaningful employment, students develop confidence, responsibility, teamwork, communication, and independence in a supportive environment.

Faculty and Staff Learning Across the Summer
Our CE faculty and staff continue to model the Tucker Core Values—not just for students, but in their own learning and growth.

This summer, a dedicated group of educators participated in a three-day, teacher-led workshop titled “Spelling: Why Is It Spelled Like That? Making Sense of Spelling Rules and Patterns in the English Language.” Throughout the workshop, teachers engaged in meaningful collaboration, deepened their understanding of current research on how the brain learns to read, and refreshed and practiced instructional strategies to support all learners.

Their work reflects what it means to be Trustworthy in their commitment to best practices, United in their collaboration, Caring in their focus on student success, Knowledgeable in their pursuit of research-based instruction, Empowered as learners and leaders, and Respectful of one another’s ideas and experiences.

At CE, we are proud to be a true learning organization—when our faculty and staff are learning, our students benefit from that growth every day.
