**Celebrating a Successful Partnership**

We are so very honored to have had our SN Department selected for a pilot program that partnered with Amazon to deliver weekly meal boxes directly to families throughout our district at no cost. Over the course of 12 weeks, on average 342 children each week benefited from this program. Every box contained 5 shelf-stable breakfasts and 5 shelf-stable lunches, delivered right to families’ doorsteps every week.

A special thank you to Umoja Health for creating the meal boxes we purchased, making this incredible partnership possible. We are grateful to Amazon, No Kid Hungry, and NC DPI School Nutrition for this successful collaboration and commitment to supporting children and families.

It has been brought to our attention that menus did not post correctly. We will get this worked out in the morning but please note this is JPKEC menu for tomorrow.

Also note that hard copy applications have not been received yet BUT if you visit LinqConnect.com you can file an online application by using the drop down menu and choose School Services then Free and Reduced Family Meal Application and type in Currituck to begin.

It is with heavy hearts that the Currituck School Nutrition family shares the heartbreaking loss of Haven Clark, son of our School Nutrition Assistant and dear friend, Carrie Humblet.

Haven will be remembered for his vibrant personality, kind spirit, and the laughter and joy he brought to everyone around him. His presence touched many lives, and he will be deeply missed.

During this incredibly difficult time, we extend our deepest condolences, love, and support to Haven’s family and friends. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate this unimaginable loss. ❤️

June 1st Meal Kits were delivered and we have already heard from a few recipients. It warms the heart to know what we do matters to those families. ❤️

We shipped 282 out to our families and still have 211 Meal Kits available to add to our deliveries weekly. If you received an email invitation please sign up so we reach our goal of 500!

Tuesday, June 2nd is the deadline for Week Delivery for June 8th

Families only need to sign up one time to receive continued weekly meal kits.

Class of 2026 Project Graduation Breakfast!

UPDATE 3: We have closed the sign up process. If you were able to sign up you should expect a meal kit moving forward. We are excited for this opportunity for the 350 families who are participating.

UPDATE 2: Issue with emails has been resolved and we are halfway reserved on our Meal Kits! That means if you received an invitational email, please sign up your household children between 1-18yrs of age before end of day tomorrow to be one of the 500 Meal Kits.

UPDATE 1: it is being reported many families have not received their email invitation. As we try to get this situation resolved please feel free to email the director (contact on flyer) and she will confirm if your family is eligible and send your invite to you again. Thank you to the families who reached out so far.

Important Notice:
School Meal Benefits Grace Period Has Ended

Each year, families are given a 30-day grace period at the start of the school year to submit a new Family Meal Application while temporarily retaining last year's meal status.
If your student qualified for free or reduced-price meals during the 2024–2025 school year, but you have not yet submitted a new application and were approved for the 2025–2026 school year, your student has now reverted to full paid status, and charges for meals will begin to accumulate starting today.

To avoid meal charges, please submit your 2025–2026 Family Meal Application as soon as possible.

Payment Options:

Cash or check: Send with your student to be applied to their meal account.
Online payments: Visit www.LinqConnect.com

Meal Prices:

District-wide breakfast: $2.00
Elementary lunch: $4.00
Secondary lunch: $4.25

NC Farm to School delivered some yummy fresh NC grown peaches this week. We hope your kiddos have enjoyed them! They were so big and beautiful in color from Hendersonville, NC.

If your family receives SNAP, FDPIR, or TANF please expect either an email (if one is on file with our department) or a letter in the near future from our office letting you know if your information was automatically pulled in to receive free meals for the 2025-26 School Year. If you receive a letter ir email you do not need to reapply.

Also please ensure ALL students are on the letter that are in your household. If a student is missing you must contact our department to verify and have them added. Do not assume they will be added. This process is automatic by our upload and software.

Any questions or if you would like to verify if your family was approved, feel free to call the main office and ask for School Nutrition and we will be happy to assist.
