Important Notice:
School Meal Benefits Grace Period Has Ended

Each year, families are given a 30-day grace period at the start of the school year to submit a new Family Meal Application while temporarily retaining last year's meal status.
If your student qualified for free or reduced-price meals during the 2024–2025 school year, but you have not yet submitted a new application and were approved for the 2025–2026 school year, your student has now reverted to full paid status, and charges for meals will begin to accumulate starting today.

To avoid meal charges, please submit your 2025–2026 Family Meal Application as soon as possible.

Payment Options:

Cash or check: Send with your student to be applied to their meal account.
Online payments: Visit www.LinqConnect.com

Meal Prices:

District-wide breakfast: $2.00
Elementary lunch: $4.00
Secondary lunch: $4.25

NC Farm to School delivered some yummy fresh NC grown peaches this week. We hope your kiddos have enjoyed them! They were so big and beautiful in color from Hendersonville, NC.

If your family receives SNAP, FDPIR, or TANF please expect either an email (if one is on file with our department) or a letter in the near future from our office letting you know if your information was automatically pulled in to receive free meals for the 2025-26 School Year. If you receive a letter ir email you do not need to reapply.

Also please ensure ALL students are on the letter that are in your household. If a student is missing you must contact our department to verify and have them added. Do not assume they will be added. This process is automatic by our upload and software.

Any questions or if you would like to verify if your family was approved, feel free to call the main office and ask for School Nutrition and we will be happy to assist.

We do not answer DMs in this platform so please do not message that way. Thank you and we are excited to serve your students in the upcoming school year.

Update: When filling out an online application, please fill in a method of contacting you: email, mailing address and/or phone number. It is difficult to reach out to verify information to process your application if necessary and leaves us no method to share your results wih you.

Important Reminders:

- Only one application per household is required each school year.
- Be sure to include all students in your household on the application.
- Include all gross income for each income-earning family member and/or student.
- Even if you were approved last year, a new application is required for the 2025–2026 school year.
- If you receive qualifying benefits, please note that automatic uploads have not yet been completed. We encourage all families to apply to ensure timely review.
- Until your application is approved, parents/guardians are responsible for any meal charges.

Every student has a meal account in Currituck County Schools. If you prefer your student not charge meals, please submit a letter or email to the School Nutrition Department. A note will be placed on the account.

Please understand that if charges are restricted, you are responsible for providing a meal for your student.
