🎤 NEW PROGRAM at Rossinca: Speech & Debate in English!
Debate happens every day — at school, at home, with friends, and probably every few minutes if you happen to be raising a very opinionated 10-year-old. 😊
The important part is learning how to express an opinion clearly, listen to another point of view, build a strong argument, and support it with evidence.
Our new Speech & Debate in English class is designed for students in Grades 3–6 and focuses on foundational communication and critical-thinking skills in a supportive, age-appropriate environment.
Students will learn to:
• structure clear, persuasive arguments
• think critically and evaluate claims
• practice active listening
• express ideas confidently and respectfully
• support opinions with evidence
• understand and appreciate different perspectives
Each class will include discussion and debate on an interesting topic, followed by a short written response to help students organize and summarize their ideas.
Some of our topics may include:
📱 Should phones be banned from schools?
🐾 Should wild animals be kept as pets?
🤖 Is technology making us smarter or lazier?
⏰ Should school start later in the morning?
🎨 What is better — being an artist or being a scientist?
💭 Can there be more than one truth?
