LMMS Band students did some team-building and got to know each other a little better on the first two days of school. Next week, our 7th and 8th grade bands will make their first sounds of the year! Our 6th grade band will begin learning how to read rhythms!

LMMS Band FAQs:
--Our sixth grade band usually has 1/3rd of the entire sixth grade participating!
--We have about 3-4 events outside of the regular school day each year—sixth grade band is the best way to try a new activity that won't interfere with your busy schedules!
--It's one of only two Connections courses you get to choose! Make sure to sign up so you can be in a class with your friends!
--You can be in band, orchestra, chorus, and drama in 6th grade!
--Involved in sports? No problem. We work around ALL activities (those at LMMS and elsewhere)!
--As 8th graders, you will be able to perform at Disney in a recording session! Our 7th graders perform at Dollywood!
--NO MUSIC EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! We all learn to read music together. The majority of our sixth grade band are first-time music students!
--Getting an instrument: Most students use our flexible, affordable rent-to-own options (with free repair plans included). We also have a limited number of larger LMMS instruments available at NO COST to families. No child will be turned away from doing band for financial reasons!

Rising 8th Grade Trumpet Players Maddox Ware and Jacob Molyneaux are attending UGA's Summer Music Camp! They will attend classes and rehearse with UGA Faculty Members while getting to know fellow musicians from all over Georgia. Way to go, Maddox and Jacob!
