How much did the interval fund industry grow from 2022 to 2023 in terms of total assets?

A. The industry reported $98.5 billion in total assets as of December 31, 2023, up from $81.3 billion as of December 31, 2022, an increase of 21.2%.

Now that more advisors, and investors, are convinced that alternative investments strengthen their investment portfolios, more wealth advisors must become better prepared and more confident to demonstrate their understanding of how, what, and why about alts. Indeed, the big challenge now becomes teaching, training and educating, not just that alternative investments are an essential ingredient, but that each investment type, class, sub-class, and strategy are unique and must be fully understood. No two alts strategies are the same, just as no two fund strategies are the same. Better training, deeper understanding, advanced expertise, and overall alts proficiency is key to a successful alts experience.
