Now that more advisors, and investors, are convinced that alternative investments strengthen their investment portfolios, more wealth advisors must become better prepared and more confident to demonstrate their understanding of how, what, and why about alts. Indeed, the big challenge now becomes teaching, training and educating, not just that alternative investments are an essential ingredient, but that each investment type, class, sub-class, and strategy are unique and must be fully understood. No two alts strategies are the same, just as no two fund strategies are the same. Better training, deeper understanding, advanced expertise, and overall alts proficiency is key to a successful alts experience.

What percentage of total industry public capital raise came from Blackstone Real Estate Income Trust in the first quarter of 2024, and how does it compare to the first quarter of 2023?

A. Blackstone REIT raised total public capital of approximately $763.1 million in the first quarter of 2024, 53.1% of the industry total. The Fund raised $5.8 billion in in the first quarter of 2023, 81.6% of the industry total.
