South Forsyth High School Fishing Team

2021-22 SOFO Fishing season has begun. Jeremy Zyck and Christian Ruotsalainen qualified for Nationals Saturday on Chic. We had two teams make top 20 in our first GHSF tournament Sunday. Big shout out to our 8th grade team of Grady Williamson and Maddox Ferrell for getting into the top 20 in their first GHSF event.

Here are the results from the Hammonds Digital Fishing Tournament yesterday! Congrats to Brett and Michael with their 3rd place finished out of 30 boats for their last senior hurrah before the National Championship. 👏👏

Had a great Sunday at the State Championship Tournament! We were fortunate to fish it on our home lake with good weather! Proud of our anglers for grinding it out.

Out of 83 boats:

Morlanne/Landreneau 12th place / 13 lbs

Benefield/Vekselman 19th place / 11 lb 7 oz

Zyck/Armao 21st place / 11 lb 3 oz

Cleveland/Clark 38th place / 6 lb 4 oz

We have an upcoming practice tournament on Saturday February 29th followed by the State Championship Tournament March 1st. The tournament is on Lanier this year so hopefully we can bring in some heavy bags! Looking forward to keeping the momentum rolling!

South Forsyth Wins on Seminole - FLW Fishing: Articles The South Forsyth High School duo of Brett Morlanne and Michael Landernaeu, both of Cu***ng, Georgia, brought four bass to the scale Saturday weighing 12 pounds, 5 ounces to win the 2020 FLW High School Fishing presented by Favorite Fishing Lake Seminole Open.

Brett and Michael took 1st place at the FLW Open on Lake Seminole! Huge win for our program! Congrats guys way to represent and bring home the gold!! Here’s some pics from their 12lb 5oz bag. Michael also won biggest fish for the tournament with a 5lb 1oz hog!

Here’s a few pics from the Clarks Hill Early Bird Tournament on Saturday. Jeremy Zyck and Logan Neubert finished in 10th place out of 70 teams with 9 lbs 12 oz! Congrats to them!

We will head over to Lake Seminole next Saturday, Feb 8th for our next FLW Open.

Only one week until the second half of the season kicks off! We will have a SAF tournament on Clarks Hill Lake next Saturday January 25th, followed by a FLW tournament February 8th on Lake Seminole! We are proud of what we have accomplished so far - let’s finish strong!
