We love seeing your support in action! 💙

Thanks to our incredible school community, the PTO was able to contribute $10,000 toward new picnic tables, umbrellas, and games for the Comet Commons! You’ll now find updated spaces on both the K–2 and 3–5 sides of the building for students to enjoy.

Givebacks like this are only possible because of your participation in things like our fall fundraiser, efforts that truly benefit every student in our school. Thank you for being part of it!

We wrapped up Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week at SCES on the sweetest note! 🍦 Gourmet ice cream sandwiches from Alsie’s were the perfect treat to celebrate an incredible group of people.

We truly love and appreciate every single staff member at SCES. The care, energy, and dedication you pour into our kids each and every day does not go unnoticed! You make such a lasting difference in their lives, and we are so grateful for all that you do! 💫

Day 4 of Teacher Appreciation Week was a total fiesta success! 🎉🌮 A huge thank you to Los Rios Cantina for generously treating our amazing SCES staff to an incredible spread…Mexican is always a crowd favorite!

Please be sure to support Los Rios! They are always so generous to our school community, and we are incredibly grateful!

The love didn’t stop there… our teachers were also showered with sweet treats from students today, and the smiles said it all. What a fun (and delicious!) day celebrating our staff!

Day 3 of Teacher & Staff Appreciation was a hit! 🎉 We treated our amazing staff to a delicious hot breakfast from Reveille - pancakes, potatoes, sausage, eggs, bacon, and biscuits…yum!

Each staff member also got to pick out a fun 90s-themed t-shirt, and we added some extra nostalgia with throwback photos of a few of our PTO board members 👀📸

Thanks to all the parents and students who are celebrating their teachers each day this week!

Today’s staff treat = a totally rad 90s-themed candy bar! 🎉🍭

If you grew up in the 90s, you have to recognize some of these nostalgic favorites. So many throwbacks that take you right back to after-school snacks, sleepovers, and trips to the corner store.

Day 2 of Teacher Appreciation Week is a little fun (and a lot of sugar!) to celebrate our amazing staff. Thanks for all you do, we hope this brings a smile and a sweet trip down memory lane! 💛

We kicked off Teacher Appreciation Week in the most fun way—90’s style! 🎉 The PTO treated our amazing staff to a Southern soda bar and transformed the lounge with all the nostalgic vibes. 💿✨

We’re so grateful for the incredible teachers and staff who pour so much into our kids every single day. This week is all about celebrating YOU! ❤️

And don’t forget about your Pathways Teacher of the week or any other staff member who has made a positive impact on your child or family this year. A small note, treat, or token of appreciation can go a long way in making their week special! 💛

📣 SCES PTO Open Recruitment for 2026–2027!

We are beginning to plan for the 2026–2027 school year and are looking for parents who would like to get involved with the SCES PTO!

A large portion of our current board will be transitioning off next year, several have 5th graders moving on to middle school, and others have served on the board for several years. Because of this, we have multiple open positions and a great opportunity for new parents to step in and help continue the amazing work happening at Silver City.

Board positions are ideal for those who enjoy leadership and collaboration. These roles involve year-long planning, decision-making, and oversight to support our events, teachers, and students. Currently, Kati Whitney will take the president positon, Ginger Schroder will be treasurer, and Ms. Manny Avella will remain Teacher Liaison!

If you prefer something more focused, we also have Chair positions, which are perfect for parents who enjoy organizing a specific event or program. These roles allow you to contribute in a meaningful way with a more targeted commitment.

Whether you love planning events, organizing volunteers, supporting teachers, or simply want to get more connected to our school community, there is a place for you!
