School is essential to life… whether you’re a fish trying to avoid predators or a human swimming through the world, education is being devalued more and more over time and the very word “education” seems to be misunderstood.

Remember that education is not only found in a school building but in every day situations and activities.

Point out the lessons to your children when applicable and help them to understand the importance of learning all they can every single day.

The sharks are circling and only by committing ourselves to our own kind of school can we gather the resources and knowledge needed to survive and even thrive in life! 🐠

Keep learning, keep swimming, and keep striving for more!

Super proud tutor moment, one of my students went from a 38% on her very first test to an 83% on the retest and a 90% on her second test!!

That’s some great progress! It was so nice seeing her so happy and proud of herself :)

Just had the first tutoring session of the school year on Friday going over narrative writing!

In one hour we reviewed the following:

- Writing a story from beginning to end
- Dependent vs independent clauses
- commas and how to use them
- semicolons and how to use them
- story arcs and story mapping
- predicate and subject of a sentence
- thematic questions
- word choice/ context clues of a story

I can’t wait to continue working with this student!!
