Our T.A.F.E. organization was started for our Education and Training program we started in 2018. Most people assume that our program is just for students who want to be teachers and while we would love that we are also the closest Education strand for public service. Tonight I was privileged to witness one of my students sign to become part of a program for 18+ students to gain continued education and help with real life job searches. The program is called Project Search. Their website states "Project SEARCH is a groundbreaking program that challenges traditional expectations and empowers young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to achieve competitive employment." Joanna will continue her education through this program and with on the job training through GISD and Hunt Regional Healthcare. We are so very proud of her and are as excited as she is about her bright future.

In the past few years our Cumby TAFE group has been in charge of a Kindness Kloset. This is supplies that are needed by our students and they are totally free. With the last two years being an adjustment with new campuses, we have not had one. We want to bring it back this year. We are in need of donations. We need small items like:
Hairbrush
Hair spray
Toothpaste
Toothbrush
Deodorant
Feminine products**** pads and tampons
Hair ties
Combs
Pencils
Pens
Bandaids
Lint rollers
Sewing kits
New or used t-shirts athletic shorts or sweatpants in case of dress code violations
Socks (They get wet when it rains and make them miserable in the classroom.
Small shampoo or soaps (yes we have students who need these)
Small umbrellas
Gloves and hats in the winter.
Bottles of water!!!!
If you can think of anything else it will all be appreciated and used. Thank you!!

On a more specific note: students go through a lot of my paint and paint brushes along with poster boards and colored paper.
Scissors and lots and lots of glue sticks

UPDATE: We sold the few items and ended up not getting anymore baked foods. Thank you.

We are going to have an online auction for these baked goodies to help fund state convention.
There will be some more items added this evening and in the morning. Pickup will be at the high school tomorrow anytime before 12 because it is early release.
I will stop the bids at 10am tomorrow and message you if you are the highest bidder. Thank you in advance for helping these students reach their goal.

All of my TAFE members qualified for state in their competitions yesterday at Area Conference in Texas A &M Texarkana. We are looking forward to attending Texas Summit Conference in Galveston in February.
Hannah, Addey, Kadee, Summer and Evan all made me proud as usual.

Since school is about to start back soon, my future teacher organization (TAFE) would like to provide a breakfast or lunch and different snacks for our teachers during in-service at Cumby ISD. If you all know any businesses or individuals who would love to help with this or help sponsor it would be greatly appreciated. Anything will be appreciated. We will let all know of your generousity. You can help by just sharing this post.

We (TAFE) also sponsor the Kindness Kloset as well. It provides for free things the kids might need such as feminine products, deodorants, Toothbrushes and Toothpaste, hair products and ponytails, hair brushes, sewing kits, school supplies, socks, snacks, waters, etc... We are empty from last year's last inventory count.
We will be happy to pick up anything you are willing to donate and I will give you a donation letter if needed.

Our TAFE organization sponsors our Kindness Kloset which provides free items that students may need but can not afford. We range from personal hygiene items, school supplies to clothes. We would appreciate any donations that you would like to contribute.
We took inventory and we are low or in need of the following items. Donations can be dropped off at high school office or if you call me I can come and pick them up.
Hair spray
Hair ties
Chapstick
Tampons and pads
Deodorant
Hair brushes
Lotion
Lock
Organization bins
Pens and pencils
Spiral notebooks or composition books
Kleenex

Please share and help our kids!

As many of you know already and have donated generously, our local TAFE (Future Educators) have a Kindness Kloset at school for kids who need things either at school or home. We have things like hygiene products, school supplies, gently or new clothes, etc...
After inventory today we realized we are out of a few items. If you run across a good sale or just have some of these items at home in your way, please donate to our project.
We are almost out of:

Ponytail holders
Tampons
Girl's deodorant
