Seed saving to produce true to type seeds!
If you want to grow the same plants from your saved seeds that you collected this year, some plants are easier to do that with. Tomatoes and beans are a couple of the easiest types to save. They typically give you a fruit that looks and grows like the fruit that you collected the seeds from. Corn, squashes, cucumbers and peppers can be tricker though. However, that doesn't mean that it can't be done!

This Master Gardener Minute is about our least favorite insect... Ticks! We have been seeing so many of these tiny seed ticks all over because it is that time of the year. Understanding where you can avoid them, what types that we have here in Maryland and what to do in case you find a tick embedded in your skin is great information to have. The CDC has a lot of information about this topic: https://www.cdc.gov/ticks/?metricsPageName=About%20Ticks
