New this year! Common Intervention and Enrichment Block!

The Common Intervention/Enrichment Block is a dedicated time built into the school day to provide students with additional opportunities for support, enrichment, and growth based on their individual needs and interests.

The goal of this time is simple: to provide the right support, challenge, or opportunity to the right student at the right time.

Students will report to their assigned teacher on our first full day on WEDNESDAY to find out more about this fantastic new opportunity!

Hello from the School Counseling Department!
As the start of the school year approaches, we wanted to share a few important updates regarding the beginning of the school year and student schedules.
Welcome, Dr. Kristine Jackson!
We are excited to welcome Dr. Kristine Jackson to our School Counseling Department! Dr. Jackson will be joining Mr. Murphy as our new school counselor. Dr. Jackson will work with students whose last names begin with A–L, while Mr. Murphy will continue working with students whose last names begin with M–Z. We are thrilled to have her on our team!
Important Dates
📅 August 17: Student schedules will be available to view in PowerSchool after 3:00 PM. Please keep in mind that schedules may continue to change up until the first day of school as we work to ensure every student has the best schedule possible.
📅 August 21 (8:00 a.m.–11:30 a.m.) School tours will be available for incoming 9th-grade students and students who are new to our school. During this time, students are welcome to stop by the School Counseling Department if they have questions about their schedules. (Please note that all tours will end by noon)
📅 Tuesday, August 25: First day of school for students! Please note that this will be a 3-hour early dismissal.

A Few Things to Know About Schedules
Ninth-grade schedules are very structured because students must complete several graduation requirements during their 9th and 10th grade years. As students move into 11th and 12th grade, they have more flexibility to choose courses based on their individual interests and post-secondary goals.
When considering schedule changes, please keep the following in mind:
School counselors are working to correct scheduling conflicts.
Schedule changes will not be made based on teacher preference or to change class periods.
Schedule changes will not be made so students can be in classes with their friends.
Our counselors work diligently to build schedules that meet graduation requirements while providing students with the best educational opportunities possible.
As we continue preparing students for life after high school, we encourage parents to have their child contact their school counselor directly or by email with any questions or concerns. Developing the confidence and communication skills to advocate for themselves is an important part of preparing for college, careers, and beyond.
We are looking forward to an amazing school year and can't wait to welcome all of our students back soon!
