All fall sports, including football, have been shut down until further notice. We do not know of any set date to start back or any set date to be given any word on when we will start back. We, as coaches, know as many details as you know and we are frustrated too. All we can do is continue to work, hope, and prepare for a season of some type. Be sure to hug your sons today because I could not imagine being in their shoes. When we know any details, we will let you know. Thank you, Go Big Blue.

Congratulations to all of our players that made the Honor Roll for the 4th nine weeks! We are proud of you on the field, in the classroom, and in your life endeavors! Keep working hard to be great in everything that you encounter. Football will teach you many things, help you grow as a man, but ACADEMICS AND KNOWLEDGE will carry you through life.

***URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT*** Starting today Tuesday July 21st and moving forward... ANY player OR coach that leaves the state for a camp, a tournament, vacation, etc. MUST quarantine and workout at home for 2 FULL WEEKS upon returning back to Maryland. This is sent by ACPS and this is NOT a recommendation but now a REQUIREMENT. Thank you, stay positive, and GO BIG BLUE

REMINDER... Returning players workouts begin tomorrow from 8-10am. Players will be placed into groups, upon arrival, and that will remain their group through the summer. Players need to park or be dropped off in the student parking lot, NOT by the practice field, and must wear a mask upon arrival. The dismissal/exit for the workout will occur in the same manner. What players need to bring: mask, cleats, tennis shoes, and water. The mask and water are very important. A mask must be worn for indoor workouts. Players will not be able to use any “hand activated” water fountains and they can NOT share water with any other player.

07/06/2020

Reminder to returning players that they will be at allegany tomorrow during their given times. Details will be given about our process as well as physical and release form papers. We will have coaches at Allegany the rest of the week from 4-530 for drive through form drop off. This is when the physical and release forms can be dropped off. Returning players must have the release form filled out and given to a coach before participating. New/incoming players must give a physical AND the release form to a coach before participating. We must understand that groups are formed, once they are formed there is NO CHANGING or SWITCHING OF GROUPS. There can be no group cross over of any kind. This is where the process for incoming/new players takes a little longer without having a physical on file. We will work through this process together and we will take care of your sons. Thank you, Go Big Blue

Returning players(Players that have a physical on record at Allegany High School) we are beginning our summer program BUT there are tasks we have to accomplish before we can officially begin. We must meet with you, pass out release forms, and physical forms. This will take place on Tuesday July 7th, there will be several waves of this. We cannot exceed 15 people including coach(Es) so you must report to your given time! If your given time does not work, please contact Coach Hansel via text, Facebook message, respond to the given post, or email [email protected] to change your group. This is a players only meeting due to the social distance guidelines. Parents if you have to drive your son, drop him off up by the practice field, and proceed to park down by the main entrance/student parking at Allegany. Players driving must also park in the student parking and walk up to the practice field. All players MUST remain 6’ apart at all times and there can be no physical touch of any kind with any player or coach. There will be 14 cones set up on the field for players to stand on the cone, NO EXCEPTIONS. We will dismiss players in accordance with the guidelines to maintain social distance. At this meeting players will receive a release form to allow them to participate in workouts. These forms will be turned in later in the week by a drive by drop off. Times will be set for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Please follow all directions so we may move forward with our season!

Update: we currently have not been given any information about when summer workouts can/will begin. Our county representatives will continue to meet with the state representatives twice a month to discuss options to move forward with football/fall sports. We are currently NOT ALLOWED to meet with players, virtually or in person, to conduct workouts. This is a state and county rule. HOWEVER, your sons have been added to a Google Classroom where sample a workout is posted and they are to post their workouts here. If there are any players, freshman mainly, that have not been added but would like added please email me at [email protected] and I will add them immediately. I know we all have different options as to what we can do to workout, but the provided workout was designed to do all at home with/without weights. Parents, we are 3 months out from our first practice, please encourage your sons to work. Also, grades are coming due VERY soon, we need our players to finish strong, as this Nine weeks determines fall eligibility! Any help needed email me and I will do what I can from my end. If you are NOT working out your teammates will know, your coaches will know, and I can guarantee your opponent will know!
