🧜‍♀️ A makeover is in the making for our students who sometimes need a little extra space to regulate, reset, feel secure, and unwind! 💙 🌊

We cannot thank our fellow teacher Terri Jenkins enough for working so hard to bring this calming sensory space to life. Her dedication and love for our students mean so much to us! We are so grateful for her help, support, and shared vision for our students.🥰

What makes it even more exciting?
This is only the beginning! 🐠🌊🐳

The kiddos already love their new calming space, and we cannot wait to see their excitement grow as more and more is added! 🐠🐢

Congratulations to our 4th graders for having the HIGHEST ATTENDANCE for the month of August! ❤️🖤🤍

To celebrate, they were treated like VIPs with a special VIP lunch in the gym followed by a DANCE PARTY! 🍕🪩🎶💃🕺

We are so proud of our students for showing up, being on time, and making every school day count! 👏

We’re challenging ALL of our CES students to SHOW UP & SHOW YOUR COLOR! 🎉 We have a BIG day planned as we work toward our schoolwide goal of 98% attendance or higher!

Effective September 1, the Tri-City Boys & Girls Club will cap daily attendance at 45 members to remain within the Kentucky Department of Education’s required 1 staff member to 15 students ratio.

To maintain an active membership and keep your child’s spot at the Club, your child must attend at least once per week. If your child does not attend for an extended period and is not maintaining weekly attendance, their spot may be opened to another student who is waiting for a place at the Club.

We understand that schedules can change, and we appreciate your help in keeping our attendance accurate and ensuring we can serve as many youth as possible while maintaining a safe environment and proper staffing ratios.

Mrs. Quillen’s 7th Grade Reading students had a delicious time today while reading Chapter 11 of Tuck Everlasting! 📖✨

In this chapter, the Tucks are enjoying pancakes and bacon for supper, so we decided to bring the story to life and enjoy our own pancakes and bacon while we read! 🥞🥓

What better way to connect with a story than to read it, experience it, and enjoy a little taste of it, too! 😋📚

We’re making reading memories one chapter—and one pancake—at a time! ❤️

Bringing Roald Dahl’s characters to life! 🎨✨

Mrs. Edwards’ 6th graders dove into Amplify ELA Unit 6A by analyzing text evidence from Boy: Tales of Childhood. After reading about the legendary (and thoroughly gross!) sweet shop owner, Mrs. Pratchett, students put pencil to paper to sketch her based strictly on Dahl’s description.

From dirty aprons and greasy hair to "hands black with dirt and grime" (and even a few Steve Harvey-style moustaches! 😂), these artists didn't miss a single loathsome detail!

So proud of their attention to detail and creative textual analysis! 📚👏
