Alumni Spotlight:
From Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army to Major of the Drum & Bugle Corps, Ryan Mayfield ‘94 NB ‘92 W ‘89 returned to Culver this summer to continue a family tradition. Ryan made his way back to Woodcraft Camp to help create unforgettable experiences for our summer campers. Tony ‘65 and Sherri Mayfield, Ryan’s parents, both worked for Culver Summer Schools & Camps and Culver Academies for decades so returning to Woodcraft Camp was a full circle moment for Ryan. 50 years of Woodcraft Camp history, opened last week!
Our campers had a blast opening a time capsule buried in 1976 and discovering patches, ID cards, rockets, art projects, and more from 50 years ago. It was amazing to see what’s changed and what hasn’t!
We’ve created a new time capsule filled with items from this summer’s wings and divisions and it will be opened at Homecoming 2076!

Mother Nature could not dampen the excitement and accomplishments of our class of 2026. The weather may have changed the venue, but it could never wash away the memories, friendships, and summer leadership experience of our campers and students. Congratulations to all of our graduates and families!

Congratulations to all of our Relay Race winners! Kline Relay champions are Butterfly Wing 2, Division 3, Cardinal Wing 3, and Division 5. Aviation won the Pegasus Challenge, Deck 5 are the Great Race Champions, and Naval Company 2 won the Communication Relay. Congratulations to everyone on demonstrating great teamwork and leadership!
