This is such a nice gesture. To be honest, I can’t remember the last time Marshall county early childhood coalition did this. I think it was well before public schools got involved having preschool classes.

Today we close not just a year, but a chapter that began in 2012.

Max’s Playhouse Montessori officially closed on December 22, 2025. This chapter has ended, but the seeds planted will continue to grow.

To our educators, families, children, librarians, and community partners: thank you for believing in Max’s Playhouse Montessori, for showing up with trust and love, and for helping us create something meaningful together.

This program may have closed its doors, but its impact will carry forward in the lives it touched. 🌱

📣I wanted to put a little informational post out for my friends and family in Indiana. This week, childcare providers and public schools were informed that our universal pre-K called “on my way pre-K” funding was slashed in half for the reimbursement rate for pre-K tuition. Also, last year over 7000 children were allowed to get their pre-K paid for and this year there will be less than 2500 slots. The childcare subsidy program that covers children ages six weeks to 13 years old has been on a waitlist since the fall and there are currently over 17,000 children waiting for that program.

Just wanted to get the information out so that any of you that have friends and family that have young children hoping to get into public preschool or into a private childcare for Prek should be aware. Indianapolis public schools just announced thwy will start charging additional tuition because the on my pre-K reimbursement is not enough to cover the service that they are providing, so I do think that a lot of other schools will follow suit. If your child is 4 by August 1, the application for On my way! Prek is still open but filling up very fast so please let your loved ones know that they should apply right away, do not wait! 📣
