Your child’s STAR report says 37th percentile.

Before your mind begins writing an entire worst-case scenario before breakfast 😅, pause.

That number does not mean your child only answered 37% of the questions correctly.

A percentile rank compares your child’s performance with other students in the same grade nationwide.

A score of 37th percentile means your child performed as well as or better than 37% of their grade-level peers.

Is that number worth understanding? Absolutely.

Is it the full story of how your child learns, where they are growing, or what support they may need next? Not even close.
