Juneteenth Freedom Day Celebration, Storytelling Workshop

Jocelyn Winn will lead a 1-hour workshop in celebration of the Juneteenth holiday. She will discuss why storytelling is important to legacy-building and human connection.
Jocelyn will read excerpts from her book entitled One of Nine: A Memoir A Collection of True Stories that Prompted Suicidal Thoughts and Began A Remarkable Journey to Find a Reason to Live.
During the workshop, participants will be invited to share in a writing exercise exploring their own personal stories on race and discovering how storytelling can bring about meaningful discussions and influence positive change in the world around us.

Elizabeth Ramos, LCSW and Co-Director of Behavioral Health. Provides brief therapy, collaborates with Via Care staff to ensure overall BH department delivery of services, and supervises behavioral health interns. Maricela Madrigal, LCSW and Co-Director of Behavioral Health. Provides individual therapy, helps manage the behavioral health department, and clinically supervises unlicensed staff.
