We serve Culpeper County families by providing infant & toddler care, preschool & pre-k classes, and before and after school and summer programs for elementary-age children. It is well known in our community for its Christian, non-denominational preschool and daycare for 2 ½ year olds through fifth grade. The preschool hours are 8:45-11:45 and are offered three days a week (Tuesday-Thursday) and f
ive days a week. These programs are offered year round. The staff is well trained and has a Christian love for children. Please contact the director for application information. Our school has a theme based curriculum that provides new experiences through Literature that is enhanced with many opportunities to experience the printed word and increase letter recognition and vocabulary. Music and Finger plays that encourage math and rhythm, Community Awareness through visits to and from people of various vocations in our community, Small and Large Group Times that allow time for sharing personal thoughts and Manipulative and Art experiences that allow the child to express his own originality. These events assist the child in becoming self-motivated in the areas of planning, problem solving, social and emotional development, making and following rules, large and small muscle development, imagination development, language skills, size concepts, location (over, under…), use of art supplies, and recognition of colors, shapes, alphabet letters and numbers. A pastor of the church has a Bible story time with the children in addition to the stories told in the classroom by the teacher. The children are exposed to monthly “specials”similar to elementary level experiences. Each month they take part in music time, library time, art projects and physical activities. We have at least three programs presented by the children throughout the school year for the parents’ enjoyment. In order to assure your child’s safety, an authorized adult must sign each child in and out every day, and we have a closed circuit television for security. Our playground is fenced and well equipped in addition to a large outdoor area for play. We present a predictable routine for your child in a friendly, secure, inviting atmosphere. Your child will be accepted at his/her own level and encouraged to advance to their highest potential without feeling pushed or pressured. It is our personal philosophy that there is no institution that can take the place of a child’s parents, or should even try, however, we will encourage your child to develop physically, socially, spiritually, emotionally, and intellectually in a loving, nurturing, supportive and safe environment.
