Time flies! As we approach our fifth annual recital, it is a good time to add students to the studio. Please spread the good news if you hear of anyone interested.

Scientists have found that just one year of music lessons can actually reshape a child’s brain. Unlike regular schoolwork, learning an instrument activates both sides of the brain at once, strengthening connections linked to language, memory, and reading skills. It’s essentially a full-brain workout.

But the benefits don’t stop there. Music training also boosts focus, emotional control, and discipline. Even short-term exposure has been linked to faster processing speed and measurable IQ improvements.

In other words, picking up an instrument doesn’t just teach music… it rewires how kids think, learn, and understand the world around them.
