WCU School of Nursing WCU School of Nursing offers undergraduate (pre-licensure) and graduate (post-licensure) programs. We are located in Cullowhee, NC and Asheville, NC.

First semester nursing students in ABSN program, through a collaborative partnership with Givens Estates, participated in the second annual Crossing Generations Workshop on 10/7/25.

Nursing students need to learn more about caring for older adults, and residents are experts on this topic. In this activity student nurses are paired with a resident giving students the chance to learn about health issues specific to older adults. Residents then provide valuable feedback on how students interact with them, and both groups can gain from the experience.

Two student groups from the ABSN Class of 2025 recently presented the findings of their three-semester comprehensive projects to an audience at Givens Estates. Through our ongoing partnership with Givens Estates, established following Hurricane Helene, students had the opportunity to collaborate directly with residents on projects focused on Disaster Preparedness and Caregiver Support.

This experience reflects WCU Nursing’s commitment to community engagement, applied learning, and preparing future nurses to lead with knowledge and compassion.
