Located in Killian Annex, the Advising Center offers comprehensive academic advising to undeclared and declared undergraduate students. Advisors help students to select proper courses, to choose careers and appropriate majors, to understand university academic policies and procedures, and to cope with the transition to college. The Center also provides a Learning Contract course for at-risk studen

ts and serves as a campus resource for general academic information. The Center provides a holistic approach to advising by addressing students’ academic and social potential.

Please be sure to be mindful of WHO your advisor is because if you have a major in Engineering/Construction Management, Education, Health & Human Sciences, or are a student of the Brinson Honors College, you need to see someone in that respective office.

SPIRIT WEEK - COLLEGE DAY!

On Friday, our skeleton crew once again wore shirts from a college they graduated from!!!! While a good portion of our staff has attended WCU, we have a great mix of folks who have attended other schools but found their way to Western Carolina University. We love repping our schools!

Things got weird in the AC on Wednesday but it was worth it! We dressed as tv/movie/book characters and stayed professional the whole time probably

Well it’s that time of the summer again - SPIRIT WEEK!!!! July is our “take-PTO-and-go-on-a-trip time” so if you see the skeleton crew on campus, be sure to give them a thumbs up for being here!!!

To start our Spirit Week, on Monday we did Community Colors!!! Each community (designated by majors) chose their own colors to match!

The Advising Center won an award!!! Thank you to all who nominated us for the Program of Excellence award and to the entire staff of the ADVC for their continuous work for our students and WCU. We are so proud! HUGE shoutout to our fearless leaders, Travis Bulluck (former director) and Mary Fischer (current director) for all they have done and still do for our office. We are nothing without them!
