Mr. BC’s 4th grade class earned a well-deserved reward for hitting their goal of 1,000 ClassDojo points during the month of September! To celebrate their outstanding behavior in both the classroom and specials, students made liquid starch ghosts with the help of a wonderful parent volunteer, Mrs. Laura Allison.

Today 8th Grade set out to separate homogeneous mixtures through boiling/evaporation and magnetism. While we were not able to attract the iron in our cereal with our magnets (we needed stronger force), and our saltwater did not have enough to time to evaporate out the water and leave behind salt, we DID see a separation in the almond milk as a layer of film developed on top and observed some interesting solid particle clumping in the lemon juice!! Pretty successful for our first lab of the year!! -Dr. Hall

Our 8th graders had a great time at the 4th Annual WCU STEM Outreach Day!
It was a chance to explore STEM, try something new, and see where their curiosity might take them. Thank you to Western Carolina University for welcoming our students and making the day possible!
