We are super excited to be hosting a bookbinding workshop on Saturday, September 19! This three-hour workshop is led by one of our instructors, Cayla Grace, and will cover the basics of coptic style bookbinding, including designing covers, preparing paper signatures, and binding itself!

Coptic bookbinding is an ancient, glue-free binding method invented in Egypt around 200 AD. It features an exposed, decorative chain-stitch spine that lets books open completely flat, making it a popular choice for modern handmade sketchbooks and journals.

Cost of the workshop includes live instruction and a tool kit that students will take home with them; tool kit includes awl, paper folder, beeswax, binding needles and more!
