Long read…. But so worth it!

There are days in childcare where the only thing people see is the cute crafts, smiling pictures, and fun activities. What they don’t always see are the late nights, weekends, trainings, paperwork, lesson plans, portfolios, developmental notes, meetings, observations, and the constant behind-the-scenes work it takes to run a truly high-quality program.

So much happened last year that I fell quiet in many areas of my life, it may have been a few months but I must share how amazing our program is!

Last September, our program completed BOTH our accreditation observation and our Alabama Quality Stars observation……all while just signing our partnership with Early Head Start. And after all the hard work, we earned FOUR STARS… literally ONE point away from five stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

To say I’m proud would be an understatement.

I am incredibly thankful for the amazing women who work beside me every single day. ❤️Their patience, love, teamwork, dedication, and willingness to always keep learning is what makes our program so special. These girls pour their hearts into these children daily, and I couldn’t do it without them.

And honestly… my family deserves an award too. 😂 Because when you work in this field, it’s not just a job that stays at work. It follows you home in binders, lesson plans, trainings, paperwork, phone calls, and late-night “just one more thing” moments. The amount of behind-the-scenes work that goes into maintaining quality care is something most people never realize.

But at the end of the day, it is worth it.
Because these children deserve quality.
They deserve safe spaces, loving teachers, meaningful learning experiences, and people who truly care.

I’m beyond proud of how far our program has come, and I’m so thankful for our teachers and for every family that trusts us with their babies each day. ❤️

One thing about home daycare life… we get creative with our spaces. 💛🐥✨

No giant bulletin boards over here for all our artwork, so today the shower door became our little art gallery. And honestly? The kids thought it was the coolest thing ever. 🥹🤣(Use your imagination….blue paper is the “water”!😜)

Children’s artwork deserves to be displayed proudly, even if it means thinking outside the box a little. Windows, doors, fences, clipboards, shower doors… if it works, it works. 😂

Sometimes the most magical classrooms aren’t the Pinterest-perfect ones …..they’re the ones filled with love, imagination, and tiny masterpieces hanging wherever they can fit. 💙🎨

Teacher Appreciation Week may only last a few days, but the love, patience, hugs, cleaning, teaching, comforting, singing, dancing, and chaos-managing you do deserves to be celebrated every single day. ✨

I spent time putting together a few small gifts this week as a tiny thank you for everything you pour into these children each day. You are so appreciated, so valued, and such an important part of our Candyland family. 🫶

Thank you for loving our babies like your own and helping make our daycare such a special place. 💕
